ALL SAINTS CHURCH

Makers at The Mill 2018 House Mill Gallery Bromley-by-Bow, London

Dedications and inscriptions from stained glass windows in All Saints Church, Forest Gate, hint at the tragic stories of local young men who perished in World War 1. The fragile desire to protect heritage and celebrate the forgotten lives of ordinary individuals is echoed in the delicate materials and processes used coupled with motifs and patterns from within the church.

Ellie provides a glimpse into the interior world of this building under threat of demolition through a series of linocuts and wire drawings which record the largely unseen details to be found in the Victorian tiles and stained glass windows.
